This support note applies to:

  • AO Tax (AU)
  • AE Tax Series 6 & 8 (AU)
  • AE Tax (AU)
Article ID: 38230

In MYOB Tax, when using the Practice Lodgment Services (PLS) to lodge, you must also have permissions to prepare and lodge applied in the ATO Access Manager.

If you don't have these permissions applied in the ATO Access Manager, you may get errors in your validation report and lodging may fail.

To update permissions in ATO Access Manager
  1. Log in to ATO Access Manager.
  2. Click Access & Permissions in the left-hand menu. The Access and permissions window appears.
  3. Click the Agent name. The Modify and permissions window appears.
  4. Click the Client tab.
  5. In the ATO Transactions section, select the checkbox of the form types that you'll be lodging on behalf of your client via PLS.

You may need to scroll down to see the ATO Transactions section.
Only select in the lodge column if the Agent is the lodging agent.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Log out of Access Manager.

  8. If you get errors in your validation report and lodging fails after you finish this procedure, check the ATO Portal to ensure that the client is listed as a registered client of your practice.
