This support note applies to:

  • AO Tax (AU)

Article ID: 34876

In MYOB Tax, if you use the Simple Lodgment Monitoring method to track the progress of your clients' tax affairs, when you enter the details from the Notice of Assessment (NOA), the status of the return is automatically updated to Assessment received.

When the system detects that Simple Lodgment Monitoring is applied, the Assessment details form will does not display an Update Status button and automatically updates the status.

If you use Accountants Office your method is always Simple Lodgment Monitoring.

When entering the NOA details, the system date defaults to the Date Assessment received field. If this date is not accurate, enter the correct date. The Date Assessment received is the date applied to the Status and the date which is subsequently used in reporting.

To check the lodgment method
  1. Open a current year tax return. The tax return opens.
  2. From the Utilities menu select Control record. The Control Record window opens.
  3. Click the Lodgment tab and review the Monitor lodgment field. The lodgment monitoring method is identified.
  4. Click OK. The Control Record window closes.

For more information regarding enter NOA details refer to How do I enter assessment details? AE Tax (AU) / AE Tax Series 6 & 8 (AU) / AO Tax (AU).
