V17: "Agent contact name is missing (Front Cover)" when validating a tax return

This support note applies to:

  • AO Tax (AU)
  • AE Tax Series 6 & 8 (AU)

In MYOB Tax when validating a tax return you may experience the error V17: "Agent contact name is missing (Front Cover)".

To successfully validate this return, enter the relevant Contact Name for the selected agent in the Control Record.

To enter the details of a Tax Contact
  1. Open the tax return and from the Utilities menu select Control Record.
  2. Click the Names tab and complete all the details for Agent and Contact.
  3. Click OK..

If there are multiple agents, ensure all details are filled in following menu path Maintenance > Agents > Properties.
