Mask

Accountants Enterprise only

A mask allows you to identify contacts, with features in common. If you have entered a From -To range the mask will select contacts from within that range only. If no range has been entered the mask will check against all contact in your database.

A mask is defined using the letters of the alphabet, the numbers, 0-9 and the special characters * and ?. The special characters are wildcards, so that:

  • ? substitutes for a single character, and

  • * substitutes for any number of characters.

For example:

  • A*, all those contacts with codes beginning with A are included.

  • [??A*], all those contacts with an A as the third element of the code are included.

It should be remembered that the comparison of the contacts against the mask is case sensitive.
