Complete and accurate records of backups provides confidence in the integrity of your data stored. A register of errors that occur during backup or restore and service work carried out should be kept and secured.

If an error does occur, record the date of the error, the operation in process at that time, the error code and description, the name of the data files being processed and the number of the backup. This information may help determine the cause of a fault or error. It is important that all your backups are numbered.
