Viewing the tax notice details for a client

The Tax notice details view displays the tax notice for the selected client and tax year. The information displayed on the Tax notice details view includes the following:

  • Due Date for the tax notice

  • practice member who has been Assigned to this client

  • Tax notice status, which will be one of:

    • Draft

    • In progress

    • Not required

    • Follow up

    • Superseded

    • Approved

    • Sent

  • Payment type

  • Balance month

  • GST, displaying whether the client is registered for GST or not

  • Basis, displaying the basis year for the calculated tax notice amount

  • Alerts and Notifications, displaying any warnings or information relevant for the tax notice

  • Comments, a text box where you can enter comments, simply click in the box and type

  • Details of the amounts included in the tax notice. You can include or exclude the student loan obligations by selecting the checkbox.

To view the Tax notice details from the Find Tax Clients page
  1. On the toolbar, select Tax. The Tax - Client Search page appears.

  2. Click the IRD Number for the client you are interested in. The Tax Manager window appears displaying the Summary page for the selected client.

  3. On the TASKS bar, click Tax notice details. The Tax notice details view for the current year appears.

To view the Tax notice details from the Tax Notices page
  1. From the Tax button drop-down list on the toolbar, select Tax Notices. The Tax Notices page appears.

  2. Select a Due Date.

  3. Click Search. The table of clients with a tax payment due in the selected month appears.

  4. Click the IRD Number for the client you are interested in. The Tax Manager window appears displaying the Tax notice details page for the selected client.

To change the tax information displayed
  • To selecting a different date, click on the Due date to open a drop-down list of available dates, and select a date. The information displayed is refreshed to show the tax notice details for the selected date.

  • To include the student loan obligations in the tax notice, select the Include Student Loan obligations checkbox. Clear the checkbox to exclude the obligations.
