Importing trial balance from MYOB Acumatica

If you use MYOB Acumatica, you can import your trial balance directly into MYOB Client Accounting.

Follow the steps to import:

  1. Export the trial balance from Acumatica

  2. Format and save the file as CSV format

  3. Upload the CSV file to MYOB Client Accounting

    1. Add the first year's data

    2. Add the second year’s data

1. Export the Trial balance from Acumatica

  1. Log in to MYOB Acumatica

  2. Type trial in the search bar at the top.

  3. Select the Summary Trial Balance report for the earliest financial year you want to import.

You'll need two years of data to show prior-year comparisons. Start with the earliest year.

  1. Export the report to Excel.

2. Format the exported file

  1. Open the exported Excel file.

  2. Fix the spreadsheet by removing:

    • Header rows (e.g. report titles, filters)

    • Blank rows

    • Subtotals and grouped totals

    • The Net Income YTD row (this is calculated automatically in Client Accounting)

  3. Reverse the signs for:

    • Liabilities

    • Income

Use a formula like =-[cell] to automate the reversal.

  1. Make sure each row includes:

    • Account (code or identifier)

    • Description (account name)

    • Ending Balance (adjusted for sign if a Liability or income account)

  2. Save it as a CSV (.csv) file.

3a. Import your first year into MYOB Client Accounting

  1. Log in to MYOB Practice Compliance.

  2. Go to the Client workspace > Financial Statement section to link the client

  3. After linking the client, you need to Import the csv data manually

  4. Map the columns as follows:

Acumatica

MYOB Client Accounting

Account

Account Number

Description

Account Name

Ending Balance

Value

  1. Complete the import for the first year.

3b. Add the second year's data

Once your first year is imported and accounts are mapped:

  1. Log in to MYOB Acumatica.

  2. Search and export the Trial Balance for the next financial year.

  3. Format the file using the same steps as above.

  4. In MYOB Client Accounting, click Add Period.

  5. Upload your second year’s CSV file.

  6. This time, you’ll only be prompted to map any new accounts that didn’t exist in the first import.
