AE/AO Document Manager 5.4.32 hotfix (Australia and New Zealand)

Release date—26 July 2019

Release notes

A recent Microsoft update causes error "Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))" when saving emails to Document Manager under some conditions. For the Knowledge Base article about this issue, see KB37411700.

What does this hotfix do?

The hotfix resolves error "Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED)))".

You get the error if you have Redemption.dll version 5.1 and the latest Microsoft update. The hotfix will give you a new Redemption.dll and Redemption64.dll, version 5.12, which is compatible with the Microsoft update.

We're aware of a couple of other issues that may have been introduced by Microsoft 1906 update. For those other issues, see Profiling wizard client when saving emails to Document Manager—Outlook version 1906 and Blank and unresponsive Document Manager To Do—Outlook version 1906.

If you're affected by those two issues, the best approach is to roll back to an earlier version of Microsoft Outlook.
