Release date—December 2024
What is the release about?
This installation will run an SQL script to identify Company tax returns lodged to the ATO but missing the Small Business Energy incentive tax offset. (Item 7 Label K).
Small Business Energy incentive tax offset. (Item 7 Label K) was an information field only and did not impact the tax assessment of your client.
This only affects returns lodged or amended on or before 11 October. Returns lodged or amended after this date do not require any action because the offset has been included in the tax return.
We identified and fixed this issue on 11 October in our system that transmits the data to the ATO. As the fix was an MYOB internal change, you did not need to take any action. .
We informed the ATO of this issue and the ATO has advised that the impacted returns should be amended and relodged to ensure that the correct data is recorded against the taxpayers' records.
This utility will identify any returns that require an amendment and list them in a text file so you can easily identify and fix them. Once you have a list of affected clients, amend their tax returns and lodge them with the ATO so they have all the offset details.
