AE Tax Workstation install stops at 85%

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) Tax Series 6/8, when performing the workstation install, this installation may stop at around 85% complete and display the error "AE Tax Workstation silently ... Removing backup files".

This error can occur due to a security warning being displayed in a window that is minimised or hidden by the installation window.  The security warning relates to running an install over a network.

To resolve this issue, locate and display the minimised install security warning window from the Taskbar and then click OK Alternatively, press ALT + TAB until the install security warning is displayed so that you can click OK to complete the install.

This also may be due to a User Account Control (UAC) prompt in Windows.  MYOB advises that it is best practice to switch UAC off when installing MYOB software.  For further information, refer to Disabling User Account Control (UAC)
