In AE Practice Manager (AE PM), you can access Tax returns and MAS through AE PM. To enable launching into Tax returns and MAS ledgers from within AE PM, configure the ledger buttons.
To configure the buttons to access MAS and Tax Ledgers in AE Practice Manager
In AE Practice Manager, go to Maintenance > User Defined > Configuration. The Configuration window appears.
In Key Name on the new record row, enter System Services and press Tab on your keyboard. The cursor moves to the Key Value field.
- Enter E:\SOL64, where E:\SOL64 is the location where system services is installed.
- Press Tab on your keyboard. The cursor appears in the Comment field.
- Enter Enables link from AE PM to MAS or Tax ledgers and press Tab on your keyboard. The record is added.
- To configure MAS:
- In Key Name on the new record row, enter Sol6MAS Ledger and press Tab on your keyboard. The cursor moves to the Key Value field.
- Enter sr EPRUN X:\S6CLIENT\CLIENTCODE/MAS4, where X:\S6CLIENT is the location where MAS is installed.
- Press Tab on your keyboard. The cursor appears in the Comment field.
- Enter Activation command for ledger access and press Tab on your keyboard. The record is added.
- To configure Tax:
- In Key Name on the new record row, enter Sol6Tax Ledger and press Tab on your keyboard. The cursor moves to the Key Value field.
- Enter either:
- sr EPRUN X:\SOL63\TAX/Tax2016 -cCLIENTCODE, where:
X:\SOL63 is the installation directory for Tax
TAX is the ledger code for Tax
Tax2016 is your current Tax year.
- Sr EPRUN S6:\\ServerName\MSSQL\SQLTAX\TAX\Tax2016 -cCLIENTCODE, where:
- ServerName is the name of the server with your SQL database
- TAX is the ledger code for Tax
- Tax2016 is your current Tax year.
- Press Tab on your keyboard. The cursor appears in the Comment field.
- Enter Enables the link from AE PM to Tax Returns and click OK.

Call ID 159890 Error "The system was unable to launch the specified application please check application path configuration."
This was resolved by amending the sr entry in the KeyValue field, for both Sol6MAS Ledger and SOL6Tax Ledger, to sr.exe.
