Creating a tax agent

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) and Accountants Office (AO) a tax agent is created within any return for the year that you want to create a tax agent.

Following is a step by step process to create the tax agent.

To create the tax agent in MYOB AE Tax

  1. Go to any tax return for the year that you want to create a tax agent.

  2. From the Maintenance menu, select Agents. The Agents window appears.

  3. Click New. The Agent Properties window appears.

  4. Complete the details on each tab and click OK. The tax return appears and the new agent is created.

  5. If you use AE Tax Integrated release, you also need to assign a tax agent to a partner and assign the partner as responsible for the client. For details, see:

To create the tax agent in MYOB AO Tax

  1. Click the Tax icon in the Toolbar. The Tax - Client Search window appears.

  2. Click Agents from the Practice area of the TASKS bar. The Agents window appears.

  3. Click New. The Agent Properties window appears.

  4. Complete the details on each tab and then click OK. The new agent is created and the Tax - Client Search window appears.
