Error "License checked failed. Last known position is 5"

This support note applies to:

  • AE Assets (AU)

You may experience the error message "License checked failed. Last known position is 5" when accessing MYOB AE Assets.  This can occur if you select an incorrect option during the installation.

To rectify this problem you need to:

  • Review any extra Installation Logs folders and uninstall from this location.
  • Review where AE Assets is installed and uninstall from this location:
    32 bit - C:\Program Files\MYOB\Assets\
    64 bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\Assets\
  • Reinstall AE Assets into the required location.

If you have an installation logs folder in another location and you have uninstalled from the incorrect location this can interfere with the application installed in the correct location.  You also now need to uninstall from the correct location then reinstall the latest version of AE Assets selecting the correct options.

To remove an incorrect installation of Assets
Commonly an incorrect attempt at installing AE Assets is found on C:\  This is evident by an Installation Logs folder on the C:\  If you do not have this Installation Logs folder on C:\ proceed to How to remove an installation of Assets below.
  1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\ The files and folders in this location appear.
  2. Double-click on the Installation Logs folder. The files in this location appear.
  3. Uninstall from this location using Unwise.exe. Assets is uninstalled.

To remove an installation of Assets
  1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the installed location:
    32 bit - C:\Program Files\MYOB\Assets\
    64 bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\Assets\
    The files and folders in this location appear.
  2. Uninstall from this location using Unwise.exe. Assets is uninstalled.
