Error : 'Login failed for user VPMUSER' in Corporate Compliance

The error 'Login failed for user VPMUSER' when accessing a workstation may be caused by an incorrect setting up of an alias under Cliconfg for Corporate Compliance.

To resolve, edit the server alias and server name to include SOL6CC within the Cliconfg.

If all workstations are effected then refer Error: "Login failed for user VPMUSER"

To edit the Cliconfg

On the workstation select Start > Run and type Cliconfg. The SQL Server Client Network Utility screen appears.
Click the Alias tab. Highlight the entry and click Edit.
Change Server Alias and Server Name fields to include SOL6CC for example, <server>\sol6cc (where <server> is the name of your SQL server).
Click Apply.
