Error: "The PLS window service is not responding, please restart the service" when viewing the Lodgment Manager homepage

This support note applies to:

 If you see this message: ‘The PLS window service is not responding, please restart the service’, it could mean that your MYOB Tax SBR Sender Service has paused.

All you need to do is restart the MYOB Tax SBR Sender Service to get it back in action.  If you need help, this Knowledge Base article will take you through it: Restarting the MYOB Tax SBR Sender Server.

If you’ve been restarting the service too many times, it might be time to upgrade to our latest version of Tax?

Please locate the exact time/day the service failed in Application event log and then check the System event log/scheduled tasks to see if there is anything that is failing or intensive is running during this time. You should also check that no lodgments were taking place during this time/date in the TaxSbrSender_ElsLodgementTracking table.
The recorded cases of this so far are:
1. Poor environmental stability - e.g. many services are timing out in the system event log
2. Raid0 errors in the system event log that can cause the server to freeze from 10-30 seconds.
3. random occurance e.g. no obvious reason in the event logs once in 3 months these can be put down to random event so just restart service and ask client to monitor.
