Error: "This folder is managed by another installation of system services"

This support note applies to:

  • AE System Release (AU)
  • AE Tax (AU)

When you access a folder or product ledger after migrating your data to a new server or location, you may get the error This folder is managed by another installation of system services.

To fix this error, delete and recreate the DS60P020 file.

Before you begin

Ensure that everyone has logged out of System Services.

To delete the DS6OP020 file
  1. Open Windows Explorer, go to your S6Client or SOL63 folder and select the DS6OP020 file. For example, X:\s6client.

  2. Go to File > Delete. The message Are you sure you want to send 'DS6OP020' to the Recycle Bin? appears.

  3. Click Yes. The file is deleted and no longer appears in the folder.

To recreate the DS6OP020 file
  1. In System Release, go to File > Login as. The System Services Login Gateway appears.

  2. In User code, enter SUPERVIS.

  3. In Password, enter S6 and click OK. System Release displays the Ledger or Folder window.

  4. On the left-hand side, go to Administration > Folders. The Folders window appears.

  5. For each problem folder:
    1. Double-click the S6Client or SOL63 folder. The error message This folder is managed by another installation of system services appears.

    2. Click OK. The message Do you wish to change machine allocation appears.

    3. Click Yes. The DS6OP020 file is recreated and the machine allocation is set.
