Error: "This update is unable to detect AE Reporter program files from the selected directory"

When installing MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) Reporter on the server, you may experience the error "This update is unable to detect AE Reporter program files from the selected directory. Please select the correct directory and continue".

To be able to install MYOB AE Reporter, run the MYOB AE Reporter workstation setup on the server.  This installs the files which the installation of MYOB AE Reporter requires in order to complete the installation.

This error can also occur when you select a destination folder for AE Reporter which is different to the location where AE Reporter is installed.  During the installation of MYOB AE Reporter, ensure you select the same destination folder as where AE Reporter is installed.

This can also happen when you run the workstation installation for AE Reporter 3.4 and select a different location to where version 3.3 is installed.
To run Reporter 3.3 Workstation setup
To identify the installed location of Reporter
  1. Open MYOB AE Reporter and from the Help menu, select About MYOB AE Reporter. The About MYOB AE Reporter window opens.
  2. Click Application details. The Application Details window opens.
  3. Review the Installation path. The installed location is noted.

    Use this location when performing the workstation installation for MYOB AE Reporter.  For example, if your Installation path shows C:\Program Files\MYOB\Reporter\3.3, when you run the workstation installation for version 3.4, specify the destination folder as C:\Program Files\MYOB\Reporter\3.3.
