Error: "Workstation could not be updated. Please run workstation setup manually"

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) you may experience the error "Workstation could not be updated. Please run workstation setup manually" when attempting to perform an automatic workstation install of Tax 2017.0a.

This issue occurs for AO sites running SEH build 5.4.24.311 after installing Tax 2017.0a on the server and the automatic workstation install attempts to complete.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Stop the MYOB Tax SBR Sender Server
  2. Run workstation install. For details refer to Running a combined workstation installation or uninstallation for Accountants Enterprise
  3. Restart the MYOB SBR Sender Server.

To stop the MYOB Tax SBR Sender Server
  1. Press and hold the Windows button and press R on your keyboard. The Run windows opens.
  2. Type services.msc and click OK. The Services window appears.
  3. Navigate to MYOB Tax SBR Sender Service.
  4. Right click and select Stop. The MYOB Tax Sender Service is now stopped.
To start the MYOB Tax SBR Sender Server
  1. Press and hold the Windows button and press R on your keyboard. The Run windows opens.
  2. Type services.msc and click OK. The Services window appears.
  3. Navigate to MYOB Tax SBR Sender Service.
  4. Right click and select Start. The MYOB Tax Sender Service is now started.
