Prompt: "Do you want to save the changes to <Template name>.dot"

This support note applies to:

  • AE Document Manager (NZ)
  • AE Document Manager (AU)

In MYOB Document Manager (DM) you may experience the message Do you want to save the changes to <Template name>.dot when previewing a draft bill and then closing the draft bill.  When you choose Yes/No, another prompt appears "Do you want to save the changes to <Template name>.dot?"

This error can occur if you have both the Document Manager and Save with Contact add-in activated in Word.

To resolve this error you will need to remove the Save with Contact add-in.

To remove the Save With Contact add-in

In Microsoft Word perform the following steps:

  1. Click the File/Office button on the left top corner of the application.

  2. Select Options (right bottom corner of the popup screen near Exit button).

  3. Select Add-ins from the left hand side.

    You will see MYOB Document Manager Word/Excel/Outlook Add-in the list, if not refer to Buttons missing from Document Manager toolbar
  4. From Manage, select Com Add-ins and click Go.

  5. De-select MYOB Document Manager Word and SaveWithContact and click OK.

  6. Close and reopen Word.

  7. Click the File/Office button on the left top corner of the application.

  8. Select Options (right bottom corner of the popup screen near Exit button).

  9. Select Add-ins from the left hand side.

    You will see MYOB Document Manager Word/Excel/Outlook Add-in the list, if not refer to Buttons missing from Document Manager toolbar
  10. From Manage, select Com Add-ins and click Go.
  11. Select MYOB Document Manager Word only and click OK.
    You are now be able to open and close Draft bills without error.
