Setting up security to post bills

This support note applies to:

  • AE Practice Manager (NZ)
  • AE Practice Manager (AU)
Article ID: 31947

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise Practice Manager (AE PM) an employee with authorisation rights to authorise and post bills may experience an exclamation mark displaying beside the 'Post' button within the Billing Wizard.

To resolve this issue ensure the employee's security group has the relevant permission ticked to 'Allow' under Maintenance > Security > Task Permissions for the Product of Practice Manager and the Group Description of 'Client' #Client @Create Bills.

You will need to exit out of AE PM for the changes to take effect.

For information on setting up the authorisation for employee's to post their own bills, refer to Setting up an employee to authorise their own or other employee's bills

To find which security group the employee is attached to
  1. Follow the menu path: Maintenance > Security > Employee Group Security. The Maintenance - Employee Group Security screen appears.
  2. Click the Employee search button. The Find Employees screen appears.
  3. Type the employee name or code in the Search for field and click Search. The search results display.
  4. Highlight the relevant employee and click OK. The employee appears in the Employee field and displays the security group the employee is attached to under 'Is a member of…' field.

MYOB Internal Notes:

Note: In versions of AE Practice Manager prior to 5.0, the Product is VPM.
