System not responding when installing or uninstalling PDF Manager

This support note applies to:

If your installation or uninstallation of PDF Manager version 1.7 isn't responding or progressing, there are a few things you can check get it running again.

To fix the issue

Work through this procedure until the installation or uninstallation is running again. If one of the steps fixes the issue, you don't need to continue the procedure

  1. Go to the Windows Task Manager > Processes tab.
  2. Right click the process Redmont.dll and choose End task.

    If you can't find the Redmont.dll process in Task Manager, then you may need to End Task to the process system64bit (32bit).

  3. Ensure you have administrative rights on the computer.
  4. Disable any third-party antivirus.

    If you need help, contact your IT administrator or antivirus software provider.

  5. Set the Disabling User Account Control (UAC) to Never Notify.
