Agent Selection

To request an ELS client list
  1. Click Request ELS client list on the Lodgment Benchmark Tasks bar. The list of agents is displayed.

  2. Select an agent from those listed.

  3. Select Request to prepare a Tax Agent Request form (RR) for a client list from the ATO. The completed form RR is automatically placed in the Output folder for transmission. Refer to How to request reports from the ATO for details.

  4. The next time you log on to the ATO your Agent Request will be lodged (the transmission may also include Returns to be lodged).

To retrieve an ELS client list
  1. Click Retrieve ELS client list on the Lodgment Benchmark Tasks bar. The list of agents is displayed.

  2. Select an agent from those listed.

  3. Select Retrieve to download from the ATO.

To review an ELS client list
  1. Click Review ELS client list on the Lodgment Benchmark Tasks bar. The list of agents is displayed.

  2. Select an agent from those listed.

  3. select Review to open the latest client list (downloaded in the last month).

  4. Select the Client Report Options.

  5. Click OK to open the Preview/Print screen opens.

  6. Review the report for correctness.

To view the exception report
  1. Click View exception report on the Lodgment Benchmark Tasks bar. The list of agents is displayed.

  2. Select an agent from those listed.

  3. Select View to open the latest Exception Report and the Preview/Print screen opens. Review the details for correctness.

To update the client details in your database from ELS client list

Review the client list and View the exception report you are using to ensure the data is for the correct year.

  1. Click the Update from ELS client list on the Lodgment Benchmark Tasks bar. The list of agents is displayed:

  2. Select an agent from those listed and click OK.

  3. Select the Client Report Update Options and click OK.

  4. The message This will overwrite returns properties for all returns that are contained in this Client List. Please ensure that you have a valid Client List for the Tax year before proceeding. displays. Refer to Update Options for RPTCL for details.

  5. Click OK to proceed.
