Downloading pre-fill data
Select the tax returns in the Individual Tax Returns list.
You can't select the return if:- the return is currently downloading or pre-filling
- the Return Name, Client Code, Agent, or TFN is blank
- the agent isn't onboarded.
On the Tasks bar, click Download & Save.
If there is no default file location for saved pre-fill reports, a message will appear. Click OK to set up a default file location, or click Cancel to end the download process. See Changing pre-fill manager settings.
You'll see a message notifying you of any issues, depending on the status of your selected returns. The message window displays the location where the pre-fill report is saved.
Click either Yes to proceed, or No to close the dialogue and fix any issues you were notified about.
If you want to change the location, click Settings to open the Report File Settings window. See Changing pre-fill manager settings.

Once you proceed, the report is downloaded from the Tax Agent Portal, and the Pre-fill Status changes to Downloading.If the report was received successfully, the Pre-fill Status changes to Ready for Pre-fill. The Date Downloaded updates to the current date.
If the return wasn't downloaded successfully, the Pre-fill Status changes to Download Error and a red hyperlink appear. Click the hyperlink to show the error details. See Pre-fill errors for more information.
Download times can vary depending on the amount of reports you're downloading, and the speed of your internet connection.
To open the pre-fill report, click the link in the Pre-fill Report column.
