Minors and Div. 6AA
The Minors and Div. 6AA screen is used to calculate tax at Div. 6AA rates on eligible income, that is income which is not excepted (earned income). Earned income is income earned from working either in business as a sole trader or in a partnership as a partner, or for an employer. Unearned income of minors is all other income particularly investment income. Income that exceeds $416 dollars is calculated at higher rates.
Div. 6AA applies: Select this checkbox to indicate that the Div. 6AA rules apply to the taxpayer for the current income year.
Div. 6AA applies next year: Select this checkbox to indicate that this taxpayer will be classified under Div. 6AA rules for the next income year as well.
Excepted Net Income: Enter the amount of income which is excepted from the higher rates of tax.
Excepted Net Capital Gain: Enter the amount of excepted net capital gain income for this taxpayer.
Excepted pre-ann. Net Capital Gain: Enter the amount of excepted net capital gain income for this taxpayer for the previous income year.
Excepted Modified Net Capital Gain: Enter the amount of excepted modified net capital gain income for this taxpayer.
