This screen is used to enter the information required for the correct calculation of the offset available to the recipient of Australian Government pensions and benefits.
If you have created a Standalone Calculation scenario for a Senior and pensioner offset (SAPTO), you must enter the Date of Birth in the Calculation Profile for the correct calculation of both the Offset and any family reduction applicable to the Medicare levy.
Benefits: Enter the amount of the benefits received by the taxpayer.
Senior and pensioner Indicator: Enter the one character SAPTO code of the taxpayer. You may click [F10] to select from the index, which lists all relevant codes.
Pension: Enter the amount of the pension received.
Veteran code: Enter the one character code that represents the veteran's marital and pension status. You may click [F10] at this field to select from the index, which lists all relevant codes.
Spouse Details
Spouse Pension Code: Enter the one character code that represents the taxpayer's marital and pension status. You may click [F10] to select from the index, which lists all relevant codes.
Spouse Taxable Income: This field is greyed out as the spouse’s taxable income is to be entered in the Calculation Profile by ticking the Marital Status checkbox and selecting the Spouse details button. Refer to Spouse details.
Eligible Offset Superannuation Pension: Enter the amount of the superannuation pension for which the taxpayer is eligible for a rebate.
Other Australian pension/annuity: Enter the amount of any other Australian pension or annuity received by the taxpayer.
Total: The total rebate of all the pension and beneficiary amounts in this screen is displayed in the Total field.
