You can view a corporation’s appointed ASIC Agent from the Corporation Details screen (see Viewing corporation details).
An agent must be appointed to act for a corporation to be able to lodge ASIC forms on its behalf.
A corporation ceases the appointment of their agent using the Appoint or cease registered agent wizard. When a new agent is appointed, the previous agent is dismissed automatically — there is no need to cease the current agent’s appointment first.
An agent can cease their own appointment as a corporation’s agent using the wizard in the Agents module (see Ceasing acting as a registered agent).
Click Appoint or cease registered agent on the Task Bar. The Appoint or cease registered agent wizard opens, showing existing details (including any existing agent) for the company.
Click Appoint new registered agent, then:
If there is already an agent: Select the new agent from the Select agent drop-down list. The “old” agent is replaced by the new one (and does not need to resign — this occurs automatically).
If there is no existing agent: Select an agent from the Select agent drop-down list.
Click Next to open the Select documents screen. The ASIC form is already selected.
Enter the Date signed (dd/mm/yyyy) or select it from the drop-down calendar.
Select the Signing officer from the drop-down list.
Click Next.
Select the form you want to preview and click Finish. If you selected to preview documents (above), they display on the Print preview screen. Any errors will be listed. If you did not select to preview documents, the ASIC form validation screen opens.
