Tax 2022.0a hotfix KB82678241 (Australia)

Release date—7 July 2022

Make sure you've installed Tax 2022.0 before installing this hotfix. Otherwise, the installation will not continue.

If you have a larger tax database, this installation may take a long time, and we suggest installing it after hours.

Release notes

We've fixed some issues listed in the Tax 2022 issues (Australia) help page. After installing the hotfix, any new returns won't be impacted by these issues.

To fix some of the issues, after you install the hotfix, you need to complete some further steps detailed below.
  • In the Data cleared from labels section, we've fixed the issue with data being cleared from labels in individual, partnership and trust returns (support reference 01055681, 01057184, 01056300, 01055842, 01057790, 01057859, 01057220 and 01057240.)

In-progress and rejected returns are fixed by installing the hotfix.

To fix completed or locked returns, after installing the hotfix:

    1. In the return, click the Edit completed form (
) icon. The return moves to an in-progress status.
    2. Click the return item number impacted to open the relevant schedules, then close the schedule. This populates the correct values.
    3. Revalidate and complete the return, and send it to your client for their signature.
  • In the Individual return section, we've fixed an issue where data was appearing unexpectedly in the labels:
    • Rolled forward salary and wages (support reference 01052951).

For returns that have not rolled over yet, these values will no longer roll over after installing the hotfix.

For rolled over tax returns with any status, after installing the hotfix, choose one of the following methods to clear the unexpected data:

      • The unexpected data will be overwritten by Item 1 pre-fill data.

The pre-fill data must be finalised first. Check the ATO TAP if you're unsure.

      • If you don't use pre-fill in 2022, manually overwrite the correct values at Item 1 of the 2022 IITR.

      • If you don't need amounts at Item 1 for the 2022 IITR, enter an amount in the Salary or wages payment summary schedule, then exit and delete the schedule.
    • Prefilled Interest income with adjustment reason J (Other), causing CMN.ATO.INCDTLS.00415 rejection (support reference 01049929).

To fix this issue, for returns with any status, install the hotfix and then press the Enter key on the Interest Adjustment Description and complete the reason.
  • In the Individual return section, we've fixed an issue with incorrect integration of distributions received from Distribution of Managed Funds (dim) capital gains discount method to Capital gains (BW) schedule and Item 18 (support reference 01053959).

This issue has been fixed in Hotfix 82678241. After installing the hotfix, any new returns won't be impacted by this issue. In progress and rejected 2022 tax returns are fixed by installing the hotfix.

After installing the hotfix, you can fix affected returns:

    • 2021 returns worked on since version 2022.0
    • completed and locked 2022 returns.

    To fix affected returns:

    1. In the return, click the Edit completed form (
) icon. The return moves to an in-progress status.

    3. Revalidate and complete the return, and send it to your client for their signature.
