Editing an existing my.MYOB login

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) or Accountants Office (AO) once you have activated MYOB Logins you may find that you will need to update the details for the following:

  • Practice Login
  • Existing Employee Login

The following documentation will step you through this process so that any changes will not alter any pre-existing connection between a practice, its employees and your client accounting data files like AccountRight Live while also ensuring that your Practice does not have any duplicate contact details.

Changing my Practice MYOB Login

Occasionally, a situation may arise where the Practice MYOB Login details are required to be updated like when you change your practice domain name.

Example:  myob.live@practice.com.au needs to change to myob.live@accounting.com.au

This process will step you through updating your Practice MYOB Login details while still ensuring that all pre-established connections to your clients accounting data files are maintained. 

Make sure that you update the email address in my.myob and then in MYOB AE/AO.

 

There are 3 steps in this process:

  1. In MYOB AE/AO, find the practice email address.
  2. Edit the email address in my.myob.
  3. Change the email address in MYOB AE/AO

Step 1: To find the email address in MYOB AE/AO

  1. Have an MYOB Administrator or Super User log into AE or AO. You are logged into MYOB.
  2. Follow the menu path: Maintenance > Maintenance Maps > Online > Practice my.MYOB Settings The Practice my.MYOB Settings window opens.

Step 2: Edit the email address in my.myob

  1. Using an internet browser navigate to the my.MYOB website. The Welcome to my.MYOB screen displays.
  2. Select your region and click the Sign in button. The MYOB login screen opens.
  3. Enter the currentPractice MYOB Login email address and password then click Sign in. The my.MYOB website is accessed.

    To log in, you'll need to have permission to manage online file access for practice users in my.MYOB.

  4. Follow the menu path: My Account > My Details The Contact Details screen appears.
  5. Select the "Click here to change your email" link. The Change Login window displays.
  6. Re-enter the Password in the Password field. The Password is entered.
  7. Enter the new Practice email address in the New Login Email field. The new Practice MYOB Login appears.
  8. Re-enter the new Practice email address in the Confirm New Login Email field. The new Practice MYOB Login is re-entered.
  9. Click Change Login. The updated details are created and saved.

Step 3: Change the email address in MYOB AE/AO

  1. Within MYOB AE or AO at the Practice my.MYOB Settings window (Maintenance > Maintenance Maps > Online > Practice my.MYOB Settings).
  2. Change the email address appearing in the MYOB Login field to your new email address.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Make sure that you now log out and log back into MYOB AE or AO using your updated practice email.
Changing an existing Employee MYOB Login

In some instances, an employee may need to update their existing MYOB Login. 

Example:  Samantha Jones got married and is now Samantha Grant.  Samantha's email needs to change from samantha.j@practice.com.au to samantha.g@practice.com.au

The following instructions will step you through the process to update an existing employee who currently has an MYOB Login while still preserving the access that Samantha has to existing clients accounting data files through the practice. 

Make sure that you update the email address in my.myob and then in MYOB AE/AO.

 

There are 3 steps in this process:

  1. In MYOB AE/AO, find the employee email address.
  2. Edit the email address in my.myob.
  3. Change the email address in MYOB AE/AO

Step 1: To find the email address in MYOB AE/AO

  1. Have an MYOB Administrator or Super User log into AE or AO. You are logged into MYOB.
  2. Follow the menu path: Contacts > Employees > Search. The Find Employees tab displays a list of all current Employees.
  3. Double click the employee you want update the email address for.
  4. From the Tasks Panel, select Edit my.MYOB details. The Edit MYOB Login window opens.
  5. Take note of the email address.

Step 2: Edit the email address in my.myob

  1. Using an internet browser navigate to the my.MYOB website. The Welcome to my.MYOB screen displays.
  2. Select your region and click the Sign in button. The MYOB login screen opens.
  3. The Employee needs to enter their current MYOB Login email address and password then click Sign in. The my.MYOB website is accessed.
  4. Follow the menu path: My Account > My Details The Contact Details screen appears.
  5. Select the "Click here to change your email" link. The Change Login window displays.
  6. Re-enter the Password in the Password field. The Password is entered.
  7. Enter the new Employee email address in the New Login Email field. The new Employee MYOB Login appears.
  8. Re-enter the new Employee email address in the Confirm New Login Email field. The new Employee MYOB Login is re-entered.
  9. Click Change Login. The updated details are created and saved.

Step 3: Change the email address in MYOB AE/AO

  1. Within MYOB AE or AO from the Edit MYOB Login window you opened at Step 1
  2. Change the email address appearing in the MYOB Login field to your new Employee email address.
  3. Click OK. The Employee MYOB Login is updated.
  4. Once you have updated the MYOB Login with the new email address click Forgot Password to reset the password for the updated email address.
  5. Make sure that you now log out and log back into MYOB AE or AO using your updated Employee login email address.

MYOB INTERNAL STAFF ONLY

Where an accounting practice has created multiple contacts in Archie because they've created multiple employee MYOB logins, to tidy this up you will need to do the following:

  1. Confirm the correct email address to keep.
  2. Go through the steps to Change an existing Employee MYOB Login
  3. Email the ANZ AD Business Operations & Systems group advise them to update Archie to merge multiple contacts.  You will need to specify the following:
  • The Client ID.
  • Specify the Contact Name to merge.
  • Specify the email address to keep.
  • Specify the email addresses to merge.
