In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) and Accountants Office (AO) Tax you may need to reset your Tax data files in certain circumstances.
If you have been instructed to do this by Support or from another support article, use the following instructions to reset your Tax data files.
This process will result in clearing the 2018 tax return data (i.e. the return status and lodgment due dates).
Before you begin:
ensure all users are logged out of Tax;
take a backup of your data.
export any 2018 tax returns that you have performed work on or have lodged.
Once you have reset your Tax 2018 database you will need to perform the Year End Routine.
1. Reset your 2018 tax ledger
To perform the following steps, you'll need to know where System Release is located. For information, refer toResetting your 2018 Tax data files
Log into to System Release with administrator level 6* security access. If you are unsure of an administrator username or password you can use the following credentials: User code: SUPERVIS Password: S6
Click the Folders option from the Navigation Bar.
If the Folders window does not appear, click the Administration link on the Navigation Bar; then the Folders option.
Highlight the Tax folder with the reference AETAX1 or AOTAX1 and press Enter.
Right-click on the Tax 2018 ledger and select Rebuild. The message "Ledger has been operated on since backup. Continue?" appears. Click Yes.
In the Data rebuild/reset utility window, click the Reset tab and select the following files. Then click OK: TC Header A DS6TC910 C DZZTC930 D DS6TC940 E DZZTC950 The message 'Warning: You have elected to reset some database components. This will result in any existing data stored therein being deleted. Are you sure you wish to proceed?' Click Yes.
Do not tick the files: DZZTT010 AND DZZTB010
The 2018 tax database files are reset. The Tax Ledgers window appears when the process has completed. You'll now need to run the Year End Routine.
2. Run the Year End Routine
After resetting your tax database files as per the previous procedure, from System Release, double click the Tax 2018 ledger. The year-end routine appears.
Follow the Year End Routine prompts to complete the process. Detailed instructions on how to manually execute the Year End Routine are available in Running the Year End Routine manually for Tax
The 2018 PLS Tax tables will need to be recreated. Contact us for assistance with this procedure.
MYOB Internal Notes
Run the following scripts located within C:\Program Files (x86)\Myob\TaxCore\in order on the clients SQL tax database to recreate the tables. (PD will be making a utility for this. Check with Premium).
