Exporting returns 2018 2018 2018
Use this feature when you need to work on returns away from the office, on your stand-alone computer or laptop; or when you need to e-mail a return to MYOB Customer Service in support of your tax query.
When you export a return it is locked and the padlock symbol indicates to other staff that it cannot be worked on. When you import it, the old return will be unlocked and the database updated with any changes made while it was off-line.
Follow the steps to export returns, including for MYOB investigation. A batch may consist of a single return.
Export options when setting up a new remote ledger
Unless you are setting up a new remote tax ledger, it is not necessary, nor advised, to export Control Information.
In MYOB AE, the defaults are Export Return details and Export Tax Tracking History.
If required, these options are selected at Step 4. above (the Export process):
Checkbox | What happens when selected... |
---|---|
Export control information | Exports the control record details, agent's details, standard answers and user details. ONLY tick this checkbox if you are setting up a brand new remote tax ledger and transporting data between it and the Practice ledger. |
Include user profiles (AE) | Exports the user’s configuration. See User Preferences 2018 2018 2018. |
Include client details (AO) | Exports the client (billing entity) details for the return. If the client details are changed, on importing the exported return, the contacts database will be overwritten with the changes. |
Export tax tracking history (AE) | This allows transfer of the full Tax Tracking (TTS) Event:Step history for the exported Return. If this option is selected on export, then any TTS history in the destination database is subsequently overwritten with what is contained in the export file, for each Return involved. If this option is not selected on export, any Event:Step history in the destination database, is retained. Excluding the Event:Step history is useful if you are performing the export in a Tax year other than the current. |
