On the toolbar, go to Tax > IRD Data. The IRD Data page appears and displays the Unreconciled view which lists all of the clients with unreconciled transactions in a table.
Assessment status
On the IRD Data page, the Assessment Status column displays the result of a comparison between the IRD assessment and the information stored in Tax Manager. The following statuses are used:
Accepted assessment — indicates that the IRD assessment agrees with Tax Manager.
Investigate assessment — indicates that the assessments differ and you need to investigate further and reconcile the amounts.
Checking assessment — indicates that the assessment is under currently investigation.
Objected assessment — indicates that the IRD assessment is under dispute.
These statuses can be updated using the Tax Manager Summary view by right-clicking on the assessment and selecting the required status from the pop up menu.
IRD Status
The IRD Status column displays the status as recorded with the IRD and is one of:
OK
On Hold
Balance mismatch.
Reviewing transactions
To help you review the transactions, there are a number of functions you can use.
To see the transactions downloaded from the IRD on a specific date
Go to the Unreconciled or Deferred view.
On the TASKS bar, click Batch review. The Batch review view appears.
Enter the date of the transactions you want to view in the Import Date field. Either type the date, or select it from the drop-down calendar. All the transactions downloaded from the IRD and imported into MYOB AE/AO on the date entered are listed in the table.
To see the deferred transactions
Go to the Unreconciled or Batch review view.
On the TASKS bar, click Deferred. The Deferred view appears. All the IRD transactions you have marked as deferred using Tax Manager entered are listed in the table.
To see the list of clients with unreconciled transactions
Go to the Batch Review or Deferred view.
On the TASKS bar, click Unreconciled. The Unreconciled view appears. All of the clients with unreconciled transactions are listed in the table.
To sort by a column heading
To sort the list by that column in ascending order, click a column heading.
To sort the list by that column in descending order, click the column heading again.
To remove the sort from that column, hold Ctrl on your keyboard and click on the column heading.
To group transactions by a column heading
Drag the column heading to the Group bar.
This will group the transactions in the list by the headings you selected. For example, you can view the transactions by Tax Year or Tax Type. When you drag the required group heading to the Group bar, the list will be updated to reflect your selection.
Optionally, to further group the items, add another group heading either before or after those already selected.
To remove the groupings, drag all the grouping options from the Group bar.
To filter the transactions displayed in the list
Click on a column in the Filter bar
in the leftmost column
From the drop-down list, select from the list of values in the column. The list will now only show entries that match the value selected in the filter.
You can use wildcards when entering filters:
To find all entries in the column beginning with D, enter d in the filter.
To find all entries in the column containing the characters FAMILY, enter *family* in the filter.
To find all entries ending in D, enter *d in the filter.
To remove the filter, click the clear filter icon

To open Tax Manager for a transaction
Click the IRD Number hyperlinkfor the required client.
You may receive the message "Tax Manager is not available for year 20xx." Only the current and the next year are available in the year drop-down list from April to September. From 1 October the year after next will also display. For example, when 2014 is the latest tax return year, 2014 and 2015 will be the latest years displayed in the drop-down list, 2016 will be available from 1 October 2014.
To open Return preparation for a transaction
Click the Return Name hyperlinkfor the required client.
To open the Client page Tax tab for a transaction
Click the Client Code hyperlink for the required client.
To open the Client page Tax tab for a transactionTo export the current list of tax clients to Excel
On the TASKS bar, click Export to Excel
. The list of transactions is exported to Excel and the spreadsheet opens.
To print the current list of transactions
On the TASKS bar, click print
in the Tasks bar. A Print window appears where you can preview and print the transactions.
