Allocating amounts in bills using the Bill Amounts window
Practice Manager only
The Bill Amounts window is accessed from within the Billing Main page by clicking Bill Amounts. Ensure that you are in Edit Bill mode (see Editing and unlocking draft bills). If you are using the Billing Wizard, it is displayed when you click Next on the Stage One window.
The Bill Amounts window is where you allocate the amount to bill the client. You can view and allocate the client’s WIP against specific assignments (AE)/jobs (AO), employees, tasks or time, expense (AE) and disbursement entries.
If you do not want to bill the client with the exact value of WIP entered against them in the system, you can make four types of WIP adjustments from the Bill Amounts window:
Write-off
Write-up/Write-on
Miscellaneous Charge (also used for credit notes)
Estimate to complete.
For detailed information about the options available in this window, see The Bill Amounts window before allocating WIP.
To allocate WIP amounts to be billed, see Stage Two—Add bill amounts. Ensure that you are in Edit Bill mode (see Editing and unlocking draft bills ).
