Practice Manager only
Applying a status to a milestone shows the current status and helps to easily identify the current state of the project.
To apply a status to a milestone for a job/schedule
Right-click the milestone cell on the Job Sheet homepage.
Select the appropriate option from the right-click menu:
In progress — This indicates that the milestone is proceeding according to the schedule and there are no problems with the milestone.
Complete — The milestone is finished. The complete date is then used in reporting to see when milestones have been completed. Today’s date is applied by default. This can be edited using non-icon mode.
Risk — This indicates that a milestone is running late or is in danger of missing the completion deadline. The job requires attention from a Partner/Manager to ensure it can be brought back into line if possible.
Problem — This indicates that there is a problem with a milestone. Add explanatory comments to the cell if necessary. See Milestone comments to add comments to a milestone.
Clear Status — Removes any status from a milestone cell.
Updating linked milestones (AE)
When you update a linked milestone on the Job Sheet homepage, the linked schedule stage is updated on the assignment schedule.
The reverse is also true. If a linked assignment schedule stage is updated, the linked milestone on the homepage will be updated.
Because milestone statuses and assignment schedule stage statuses are only linked to the status options In progress, Complete, Problem and Risk, updating a linked schedule stage with a user-created task status will clear the status of the milestone on the Job Sheet homepage.
Using the clear status option for a linked milestone on the Job Sheet homepage will set the linked assignment schedule stage to Not Started.
