Error: "42. All the pages in the database are in use. You need to expand the file"

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) you may see the error "Environment error 42.  All the pages in the database are in use. You need to expand the file"

This message can also be followed by "Environment error 4011. Failed to insert a database record; a record already exists.".

The most common occurrence of these errors is when entering timesheets.

To clear the error message, exit from AE and run the Database Maintenance utility as described below.


To run the Database Maintenance utility

Perform the following instructions from the database server and ensure that you have a current backup.

  1. Run the Application Finder utility to ensure that all users have exited from AE. For details see Running Application Finder.
  2. Ensure the Integrity.exe process is not running.  To start and stop Integrity.exe see Stopping and starting Integrity. The Integrity.exe process is stopped.
  3. As per the previously mentioned Running Application Finder the Application Finder will locate where Integrity.exe is running. 
  4. Run the Database Maintenance utility. For details see Running Database Maintenance in MYOB Accountants Enterprise.
