In MYOB Tax, you may experience the error "Roll over failed" when running the Year End Routine for SQL Tax 2023.

1. Perform a data Integrity Check for the previous year

Perform data integrity check in the prior financial year to ensure any orphaned records are removed from MYOB Tax.

An "orphaned record" is information that no longer has a connection to any other data or database table.

See Performing an Integrity Check for details.

2. Reset your 2023 tax data files

This process will clear any existing tax return data in the 2023 tax year.

If you've already lodged or started to work on a 2023 tax return, export the return before resetting your tax data files. After resetting the 2023 tax data files, you can import the returns back in and continue working.

2a. Reset your 2023 tax ledger
  1. Log in to Identifying the location of System Release as an Administrator with level 6* security access.
If you are unsure of an administrator username or password, use the following credentials:
    User code: SUPERVIS
    Password: S6

  2. Click the Folders option from the Navigation Bar.

If the Folders window does not appear, click the Administration link on the Navigation Bar; then the Folders option.
  3. Select the Tax folder with the reference AETAX1 or AOTAX1 and press Enter.

  4. Right-click on the Tax 2023 ledger and select Rebuild. The message "Ledger has been operated on since backup. Continue?" appears. Click Yes. The Data rebuild/reset utility window appears.

  5. Click the Reset tab and select the following files:
    TB Header
    A DS6TB410
    C DZZTB430
    D DS6TB440
    E DZZT450

Do not tick the files: DZZTT010 AND DZZTB010

  6. Click OK. The message "Warning: You have elected to reset some database components. This will result in any existing data stored therein being deleted. Are you sure you wish to proceed?"

  7. Click Yes. The 2020 tax database files are reset. You'll now need to run the Year End Routine.

2b. Run the Year End Routine
  1. After resetting your tax database files as per the previous procedure, from System Release, double-click the Tax 2023 ledger. The year-end routine appears.

  2. Follow the Year End Routine prompts to complete the process.

The 2022 PLS Tax tables will need to be recreated. Call our support team for assistance with this procedure.

3. Run the Year End Routine
  1. Log into System Release and open the Tax 2023 year.

  2. Follow the Year End Routine instructions.
