Assets 2.x is a workstation only installation although it can be handy to have it installed on your Server for troubleshooting purposes.  To migrate Assets you need to copy over the MAS/Accounts data to the new server and then re install Assets on the workstation.

For Management Accounting System (MAS)

The Assets data is located in the S6CLIENT directory.  The S6CLIENT directory would have been copied over as part of the System Release and MAS migration, for details refer to Migrating Accountants Enterprise products that are accessed through System Release including SQL tax, to a new server or share (AE Tax AU)

Once the data has been copied over you will then need to make sure the workstation has System Release running on it, for details refer to Installing System Release on a workstation.

Once you are satisfied that System Release is running on the workstation, you are ready to install Assets.  Refer to the Assets installation guide, available on the Assets CD, for installation instructions.

Accounts version 6 or 8

The Assets data is located in the Contacts data location, this would have been copied over as part of the Contacts migration, for further details refer to KB 30704: How do I migrate MYOB Accountants Enterprise version 6.28 and above or 8.13 and above to a new Server? 6 or 8 installed on the server?

You will then need to run a workstation install, refer to Running a Contacts or Client Compliance workstation setup.

You are now ready to install Assets.   Refer to the Assets installation guide, available on the Assets CD, for installation instructions.
