In MYOB Practice Manager, a Documents tab used to appear for clients. Once Document Manager is installed this no longer appears.
To restore this tab, follow the steps below to turn on a second Documents tab to access any documents created in Accountants Enterprise (AE) or Accountants Office (AO) Practice Manager, but not converted to Document Manager.
The following steps will need to be performed after each upgrade.
To turn on the second Documents tab
From the Windows desktop, right-click on the Start
button and select Run.
Alternatively, you can press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to open this window.
In the Open field type in the location of your server Central folder. This is usually one of the following locations:
Where SERVER is the name of your server where MYOB Document Manager is installed.
Locate the KMConfig.xml file, right click on it and select Open With.
Select Notepad and click Ok. The KMConfig.xml file opens in Notepad.
On the third line <ShowCentralDocuments>No</ShowCentralDocuments> change the value from "No" to "Yes", then save and close the file.
The KMConfig.xml file now displays <ShowCentralDocuments>Yes</ShowCentralDocuments> and the changes are saved.
You will now see two Document tabs on the client inside AE/AO once you close and re-open AE/AO.
This also switches on the second mail merge option found under Documents in the Task Bar. This option does not profile the documents to Document Manager and does not use the standards and stationery created in Intranet.
If you are running AE/AO version 5.4.25 or later you will need to run a Document Manager workstation install on each workstation. For information on how to run a Document Manager workstation install refer to the following articles:
