Document Manager files which are opened in Workpapers are automatically checked out of Document Manager. Document Manager copies the file to the working directory and the item is locked to prevent others from making changes to the document. While a document is checked out and open, other staff members will have read-only access to the document.
If changes are made to the Document Manager file, it should be checked in before closing the document. Use the Check In option on the Document Manager toolbar. A new version of the document can be created. A new document or the original document can be replaced. See theChecking in documents process.
Changes cannot be made to the Document Manager file if its status is set to approved / complete. When opening a Document Manager file with a status of approved / complete a warning is displayed. Select Yes to open and view the file as read-only.
When a workpaper is closed while a PDF file is checked out, a warning message displays asking if you’d like to check in these documents first. You can check in your changes at this point, or dismiss the message and check in the changes later.
All of Document Manager’s features are available for use.
