MYOB provides a number of master templates which are normally included as part of the Workpapers installation. These master templates cannot be edited. No additions can be made the list of current master templates. The master templates are only updated during a new Workpapers release. Any changes made to the master templates by MYOB will not affect any practice templates created from the master templates.

Layout of a template
Every template is divided into three sections:
The fields in the header are pre-defined and are populated when the workpaper template is attached to a client file. All MYOB master templates contain the same header.
Body
The body of the MYOB master template contains the actual calculations and workpaper details. All MYOB master templates contain a Notes section for entering free text and a Document Links section to link to source documents using Document Manager or Windows Explorer.
The footer section of all MYOB master templates only contains the page number.
To access the master templates
- Open and log on to MYOB AE.
- Click Start > Programs > MYOB Accountants Enterprise > MYOB AE.
- Select Maintenance > Client Accounting > Workpaper Templates on the main menu. The MYOB Workpaper Templates window opens.
- Select the MYOB master templates option. A list of available master templates is displayed. The list is sorted alphabetically based on the template description. This list cannot be changed.
To view a master template
A master template can only be viewed in read only mode. You can view the structure of the master template and the field properties and calculations used. You can copy text, but you cannot make any changes or save the document.
- Access the MYOB master templates. A list of available master templates is displayed.
- Select the master template to be viewed.
- Click View document on the TASKS bar.

Double-click the master template to be viewed.
The master template opens in the Designer window in read only mode.
To view the properties of a master template
- Access the MYOB master templates. A list of available master templates is displayed.
- Select the master template whose properties are to be viewed.
- Click View properties on the TASKS bar. The MYOB Master Workpaper Template Details window opens. The information displayed in this window is read only.
