Scanning option details

The scanning options available in PDF Manager provide a wide choice of scan quality, accuracy, file size and speed.

The options are available through the ToolsOptions > Scanning window.

Scanning options

Default

If the Apply image processing… checkbox is not selected and the slider is disabled.

This setting will not apply any post scan processes to the image. This is the simplest and fastest form of scanning. It provides a raw scanned image without any processing such as despeckling (removing image “noise” such as random dots) or deskewing (correcting slanting of the image caused by the document not being fed correctly through the scanner).

Use the Default option if your scanner has inbuilt support for despeckling, deskewing and noise removal. Many modern scanners have very fast internal processors which can post-process the images faster than a PC.
