Updating a practice template to an updated MYOB master template

There will be occasions when MYOB will update the existing master templates. The updated master templates will be available with a new release of Workpapers. If you have made no customisations to the practice template (which was originally created from the master template) then the practice template will be automatically updated. If the practice template has been customised then you have the option to update the practice template to the latest version of the master template.

Each customised practice template must be selected and reverted to the MYOB master template using Revert to MYOB master on the Tasks bar. See Reverting to MYOB master.

Any new master templates are automatically copied to the practice templates list when the new version of Workpapers is installed. Any practice templates that have not been customised will be automatically updated with the new version of the master templates.

You do not have to update your customised practice template to the updated master template. You cannot retain the customisations to your practice template and update the master templates.

If you want to retain the customisation to your practice template and update the master templates:

• Export a copy of your practice templates. See Exporting templates. You export a copy of your practice template so that you can see what changes you have made to it and then reapply them to the updated practice template.

• Update the practice template to the new version of the master templates. See Reverting to MYOB master.
• Redo your customisations to the updated practice template.
