Data categories and data fields | MYOB Practice Support

Client non-transaction data is organised into:

Data Fields — to the specific data values that are required for the financial statements. These include fields such as the client name and address.
Data Category — data fields are grouped using Data Categories. These categories allow quick and easy searching of the data field to be viewed or edited.

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are linked to the MYOB AE/AO fields only if the practice non-transaction data preferences have been configured and the Associations feature in MYOB AE/AO is used. See Practice non-transaction data preferences for more information.

A indicates that the data field is linked to the client’s details in MYOB AE/AO. These linked fields can be edited in Non-Transaction Data in Statutory Reporter. The changes made in Statutory Reporter are not updated to MYOB AE/AO. Click to reset the changes to the field and return to the MYOB AE/AO data.

Each data field is a certain data type. The data type controls the type of information that can be entered into the data field.
