Extra types enable you to categorise the data stored in extra fields and lists so that you can sort and group extra fields and lists based on the type of data.
Extra types are displayed in the Extra tab on the Contact, Client, Supplier (AE), Assignment Details (AE) and Employee pages.
Example extra types:
Financial (for example, budgets)
Marketing (for example, newsletters, Christmas card lists)
Compliance (for example, TFN and ABN)
To create or edit a new extra type
Select Maintenance > User defined > Extra Types on the main menu (AE) or Maintenance > Maintenance Map > User defined > Extra Types. The Maintenance – Extra Types page opens.
Enter the name of the new Extra Type in the first blank row at the top of the table.
Edit the Extra Type, if necessary.
Press [Enter].
Repeat step 2-3 to enter more Extra Types.
Click OK to save the changes and close the Maintenance – Extra Types page.
To delete an extra type
You cannot delete an Extra Type that is currently assigned to an extra field or list. If the extra type is being used, a message is displayed and you will be unable to delete it.
Select Maintenance > User defined > Extra Types on the main menu (AE) or Maintenance > Maintenance Map > User defined > Extra Types. The Maintenance – Extra Types page opens.
Select the row containing the type you want to delete.
Click to highlight the entire row.
Press [Delete]. A Confirm Delete message is displayed requesting confirmation of the deletion.
Click Yes.
Click OK to save the changes and close the Maintenance – Extra Types page.
Once you have added new Extra Types, you can then update your existing extra fields and extra lists and classify with the correct extra type.
To update your extra lists and extra fields
Select Maintenance > User defined > Extra Lists on the main menu (AE) or Maintenance > Maintenance Map > User defined > Extra Lists. The Maintenance – Extra Lists page opens and / or
Select Maintenance > User defined > Extra Fields on the main menu (AE) or Maintenance > Maintenance Map > User defined > Extra Fields. The Maintenance – Extra Fields page opens.
Select the correct Extra Type on each row (if applicable). The extra field type is added by selecting it from the drop down picklist in the Extra Type field.
Click OK to exit the screen.
