Error: "Cannot verify TAX ledger code. Check settings in SOL64\Taxinstall.ini" when running the combined installer

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) you may experience the error “Cannot verify TAX ledger code. Check settings in SOL64\Taxinstall.ini” when running the combined installer.

This error occurs due to an incorrect setting in the Taxinstall.ini file which is located in Sol64 folder or the Tax folder.  

If a Non-SQL AE Tax client has the SQLTax=FALSE entry and SQLDATABASE entry in Taxinstall.ini the above error message is generated during the install.

To resolve this error remove the SQLDATABASE entry and make sure TaxDirectory entry correctly pointing to the SOL63 folder (Non-SQL database location) in the Taxinstall.ini.

 If the latest tax program files are not installed or the latest templates are not created by the combined installer, please follow the above steps. 

Also note the following details in relation to the above instructions:

  • X: is the drive location of your SOL64 or SOL63 folder
  • SERVER1\S6SYSTEM is the network location of your SOL64 or SOL63
