Error: "TaxMerge has encountered a problem and needs to close"

In MYOB Tax, you may get the error "TaxMerge has encountered a problem and needs to close" when generating a tax letter.
This error occurs when the version of Microsoft Word you're using is no longer compatible with tax letters such as Microsoft Office 2003 (XP), 2007 or 2010.
MYOB is currently compatible with Office 2013, 2016 and 365.
To use letters, we recommend updating to a compatible version of Microsoft Office. For more information, refer to the following articles:
