Error: "Save and convert: The convert method or property is not available because this command is not available for reading" when creating a document

In MYOB Document Manager (DM) you may experience the error "Save and convert: The convert method or property is not available because this command is not available for reading" when attempting to create a new document in DM using Office 2013.

To resolve this error update the following MS Word settings; File > Options > General > and untick Open e-mail attachments and other uneditable files in reading view from the Start up options section.
