Uninstalling and reinstalling MYOB AO PDF Generator and Amyuni Document Converter

When printing a document to PDF from MYOB Accountants Office (AO) Classic, you may experience issues where AO stops responding. If this is a regular occurance you may be required to uninstall the Amyuni Printer drivers and reinstall MYOB AO PDF Generator.

Although the Amyuni Document Converter is the same as the MYOB AO PDF Generator, versions of these printers/driver may differ. If these items appear in your Devices and Printers list, use the following commands to uninstall the drivers and printers and reinstall the MYOB AO PDF Generator. 

The current version of Amyuni Document Converter bundled with AO is not Windows 8 compatible. If you have a Windows 8 workstation, or you cannot get the PDF Converter to run with your operating system, you can source a free 3rd party PDF converter to use as an alternative.

Before you begin:

  • Close AO Classic and restart your workstation.
  • When logging back into Windows ensure that you are logging on as a Windows Administrator.

Perform the following tasks.

To uninstall the AO printer drivers
  1. From the Windows Desktop, right click on the Start menu and select Run. Alternatively you can press the Windows key + R on the keyboard.
  2. In the Open field enter the relevant command for your operating system, then click OK:

  3. Check the MYOB AO PDF Generator is gone from Control Panel > Devices and Printers. If the printer still appears in the Printers listing, right-click on the printer and select Remove device.

The printer driver is removed.

If the command is not successful, enclose the path in quotation marks (" "), for example "C:\Program Files\Accountants office\PDFWriter\Install.exe" /u.

To install MYOB AO PDF Generator
  1. From the Windows Desktop, right click on the Start menu and select Run. Alternatively you can press the Windows key + R on the keyboard.

  2. In the Open field enter the relevant command for your operating system, then click OK:

    64-bitC:\Program Files (x86)\Accountants Office\PDFWriter\Install.exe "MYOB AO PDF Generator"

The MYOB AO PDF Generator is installed.

If the command is not successful, enclose the path in quotation marks (" "), for example "C:\Program Files\Accountants office\PDFWriter\Install.exe" "MYOB AO PDF Generator".

To install MYOB AO PDF Generator 450 Drivers
  1. Download and unzip PDFWriter450.zip to the relevant location:

    64-bitC:\Program Files (x86)\Accountants Office\PDF_Converter
  2. Open the PDFWriter folder located within the unzipped PDFWriter450 folder, then double-click on Install.exe to install the driver.
  3. From the Accountants Office folder, right-click Register.bat and select Run as Administrator.

MYOB INTERNAL STAFF ONLY

You may need to run the command to remove the printer and driver a few times for the printer/driver to be removed from the Devices and Printers list. If this does not remove from your printers list by this command, right-click on the printer and select Remove Device.
