Setting single user access to System Release

This support note applies to:

  • AE System Release (AU)
  • AE Tax (AU)
Article ID: 24026

MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) System Release allows you to restrict access to single user for the purpose of performing updates and processes that require exclusive access.

By setting single user access, other users are not able to access System Release until the setting is changed back to multi-user access.

When running certain installations or updates, this lock may be automatically applied and then not unlocked afterwards. For example you may receive the error "User SUPERVIS has been granted exclusive access to system services".

This article will walk you through how to set single user access and how to disable single user access by restoring multi-user access.

To set single users access
  1. From the Start menu, select Run. The Run window appears.
  2. Type X:\SOL64\SR EPSGLUSR <UserCode> in the Open field where:

    • X:\SOL64 is the location of System Release

    • <UserCode> is the user code of the relevant user in System Release

EPSGLUSR must be in UPPERCASE and the UserCode must be in the same case as it appears in System Release.

  3. Click OK.

The System Release splash screen appears with the message "Single user access has been granted to User <UserCode>".

To restore multi-user access
  1. From the Start menu, select Run. The Run window appears.
  2. Type x:\SOL64\SR EPSGLUSR /UNLOCK in the Open field, and press ENTER where X:\SOL64 is the drive location of System Release.

EPSGLUSR /UNLOCK must be in UPPERCASE.

The System Release splash screen appears then closes again the message "Single user access has been cleared" appears. Click OK and multi-user access is now restored.
